Three things, done right

The features that matter.

Page-level work on PDFs — without the bloat of a full editor and without sending your files into the cloud.

01 / Split

Multiple pages straight into individual PDFs.

Burst any document into one PDF per page in a single move. Pick the folder, get clean files numbered in order — ready to attach, file, or share.

02 / Clean up
✂︎

Delete pages and save what's left.

Mark blank scans, duplicates, or anything you don't want — they're gone. Your tidied document exports as a fresh PDF; the original on disk never changes.

03 / Merge

Multiple PDFs into one.

Drop two, three, ten files into the window. Mix pages across them, drag them into the order you want, export the result as a single document.

Split

One PDF in, dozens out.

Press ⌘⇧D, choose a folder, done. Every page in the document becomes its own numbered PDF — perfect for splitting receipts, contracts, or scanned batches into per-page files.

  • ⌘⇧D Split into individual files
  • Numbered output in your chosen folder
  • Original document stays intact

Clean up

Mark, delete, export — done.

Multi-select unwanted pages with ⌘-Click, hit , then ⌘S to save what's left. cutpdf never modifies the file on disk; every export is a fresh document.

  • ⌘-Click Select multiple pages
  • Remove from working set
  • ⌘S Save the cleaned-up PDF

Merge

Combine multiple PDFs by dropping them in.

Open as many PDFs as you need — cutpdf shows every page in one grid. Reorder across documents, remove what doesn't belong, export the whole thing as a single PDF.

  • ⌘O Open more files
  • Drag-drop directly from Finder
  • ⌘S Export as one combined PDF

Why cutpdf

Splitting a PDF shouldn't need a subscription.

For years, "rearrange these pages" has meant a 1.5 GB installer, a forced account, a cloud upload nobody asked for, and €14 a month — with split, merge, and delete locked behind a "Pro" upgrade. cutpdf is what these tools should have been all along.

Private by design.

cutpdf has no servers, no analytics, no telemetry, no account. PDFs never leave your Mac. The app is sandboxed and only sees files you explicitly open.

FAQ

Questions.

Most things you'll want to know.

Which macOS versions are supported?

macOS 14 Sonoma or newer. cutpdf uses SwiftUI and PDFKit features that landed in Sonoma.

Does cutpdf modify my original PDFs?

Never. Every export creates a new file. Open ten PDFs, mix them, export — the originals on disk remain exactly as they were.

Is there a subscription?

No. cutpdf is a one-time purchase via the Mac App Store. No cloud features, no recurring fees.

Can I edit the content of pages?

cutpdf works at the page level — split, delete, merge, rotate, rearrange. For text or annotation editing, use Preview or a dedicated PDF editor alongside it.

Is it available for Windows or Linux?

cutpdf is built natively for the Mac in SwiftUI. We focus exclusively on the macOS experience — no Windows or Linux version is planned.

Is it open source?

Not at this time. Send feedback to cutpdf@1337-studios.com.
